Diagnostic Classification Certification

Howard Air has a career path system called “Rank & Class” for Service Technicians.  Each Rank has technician levels referred to as, Tech I through Tech V.  This program is meant to give the service technician a clear career path to advancement.  Within this program each technician can obtain diagnostic certifications for each Tech Level.  This serves two purposes.  One, the technician has the training and confidence to work on equipment and systems within that classification.  Two, it enables service dispatchers to have confidence that the technician they are sending to the client is qualified to work on their particular system.

Systemic Diagnostics Training

Like NATE, each diagnostic class certifications must be renewed every two years and requires “Howard Air” continuing education credits to keep the certification current.  This is to ensure that the technician stays up to date on the latest technology, service and repair techniques as well as the latest tool innovations of the trade.  This is an ongoing training program that keeps technicians developing and working out solutions and is called “Systematic Diagnostics Training”.
