MEET KIRSTEN SHAW
Kirsten Shaw, Howard Air’s Healthy Building Specialist, is a Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant and Home Energy Rater. Kirsten has over two decades of experience in testing, diagnosing and correcting indoor environmental issues throughout Arizona. Her professional experience includes teaching biological sciences at Arizona State University, as well as teaching building science, health and safety, and construction-related processes in classrooms and on job sites to all levels of construction-related experts; including custom home builders, production builders’ site superintendents, crew leaders and laborers performing the construction tasks, energy auditors and energy code inspectors. In addition to holding an Arizona College Biology Teaching Certificate, she is also an Arizona licensed Residential and Light Commercial General Contractor (ROC # 256426 & 278791). She has been invited to speak about healthy building design, construction and indoor environmental quality testing, as well as energy efficiency at several professional national conferences including RESNET, the Indoor Air Quality Association, and the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance. When she is not solving indoor environmental quality problems, she enjoys white water rafting, organic gardening and creating whimsical, functional ceramic dishes.
